Subcontract leveling

Compare subcontractor and vendor quotes for the same scope side by side, see who covers what, and carry one price into the budget.

Bid leveling puts every quote for one package of scope on one board. You split the scope into inclusions (rows), add each bidder as a column, type each bidder's price against each inclusion, and Tidy ranks them. When you pick a bidder with Carry this, their total becomes the package cost on your budget.

Where to find it

On a budget, open an assembly of type Subcontract. It has two tabs: Overview and Bid levelling.

How the board works

RuleWhat it means
A price means coveredTyping a price in a cell means that bidder includes that item. A blank cell means they do not. A price of 0 means "included at no charge".
Coverage ranks firstBidders are ranked by how many inclusions they cover, then by lowest total.
Totals use top-level rowsSub-items are detail and are not added in.
Only the carried bid countsUntil you carry a bid, the package shows No bid carried and has no total. Tidy does not plug in an allowance.

Example: a $14,225 bid covering 5 of 9 items ranks behind a $19,240 bid covering 9 of 9. The low number is low because it is missing scope.

Each column header shows the bidder, their total, "n of m covered" with their rank, and the Carry this button.

Exports

From the package menu, Export > Levelling board (PDF) or Package (PDF).

What it does not do yet

  • Tidy does not send the package to bidders, chase them or collect their replies. Adding a bidder only adds their column, marked Invited.
  • Prices are typed in (or pasted from Excel), or proposed by the agent from a quote you give it.
  • There are no per-bidder exclusions, qualifications or alternates on the board.

What the agent can do

The agent can read the board, add bidders from your vendor list and fill in prices from a quote document you point it to. It shows an approval card for every price entry and every carry, every time.
