# Send RFIs

> Raise questions from the drawings, send them to every client in one go, and log the answers before bid day.

Section: How to use Tidy

## 1. Set the questions deadline

On the bid's **RFIs** tab, set the **Questions due** date from the invite. Tidy counts down to it and reminds you to send drafts in time.

## 2. Draft as you price

- From a drawing: right-click the markup or measurement you have a question about and choose **Add to RFI**. A snapshot of that spot is attached.
- From the RFIs tab: click **New RFI**.

Write one question per RFI. Fill in a **Proposed answer**, the assumption you will price if nobody replies. Clients answer faster when they only have to say yes.

## 3. Send them together

1. Tick the drafts and click **Send**.
2. Choose which clients get them. Each client gets one plain-text email listing all the RFIs.
3. Review each email, then click **Send**.

The RFIs get numbers (`RFI-001`, `RFI-002`) and become **Open**.

## 4. Log the answers

When a client answers (by email, addendum, phone or portal):

1. Open the RFI.
2. Under **Official response**, enter the answer and its **Source**, and attach the addendum if there is one.
3. Save, then **Close RFI**.

Tick **Client replied** on the sent email so Tidy stops drafting chasers.

## 5. Let Tidy chase

Unanswered RFIs get a polite follow-up draft after 3 business days, or 2 days before questions are due. Approve them with your other [follow-ups](https://automatedconstruction.io/tidy/docs/features/follow-ups).

## Ask the agent

- "Read the RCPs and specs for this bid and draft RFIs for anything that conflicts, each with a proposed answer."
- "Record the answer to RFI-004 from Addendum 2: ceiling height is 9 ft."
- "Which RFIs on my bids are still open?"

The agent can draft and record, but sending is always your click.
