Submitting a bid in Tidy sends it and records it in one step. It logs the bid value and a numbered submission, adds a note to the bid's history, sets the bid to **Submitted** and starts the follow-up clock.

## Where to find it

- On a bid: the **Bid Form** tab, or **Submit** in the bid's menu.
- From a proposal: the **Send** step, which opens the same dialog with the proposal PDF attached.

## Send it by email

1. Open the **Submit Bid** dialog.
2. Check the scope and the bid value. From a proposal, the value is filled in from the proposal total.
3. Choose recipients. **Broadcast to all linked clients** sends each client their own copy. Fix a missing contact with **Add contact** right in the dialog.
4. Write the message, or click **Generate with AI** for a draft. Use **Insert variable** for names and dates.
5. Attach your bid form or proposal and any company documents.
6. Click **Submit Bid**, or **Preview N emails** when there are several, then confirm.

## Log a bid you sent somewhere else

Click **Log your bid instead** to record a submission without sending email: who submitted, the date and time, the bid value, notes and the file.

## What happens next

- The bid moves to **Submitted** with follow-up status **Awaiting Reply**.
- The submission is numbered (Rev 1, Rev 2...) in the bid's history.
- The bid joins the follow-up schedule. See [Follow-ups](https://automatedconstruction.io/tidy/docs/features/follow-ups).

> Email sends count toward the daily email limit, and one send can go to at most 25 people.
